Cloth nappies that last – for your child, your wallet and the planet

Cloth nappies are reusable nappies that follow your child from the newborn days all the way to potty training. With poppers at the front you adjust the size as your child grows – you never need to buy a new size, and the same nappies can be used for several children. A simple way to opt out of unnecessary waste, without complicating everyday nappy life.

Here you'll find the whole range: nappy covers/all-in-one and pocket nappies for the day, night nappies for long nights and newborn nappies for the very smallest – plus inserts, wet bags and laundry accessories. Our main range is sewn in OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified materials: bamboo next to the skin and a waterproof outer cover in recycled polyester. The standard allows no intentionally added PFAS and sets limit values for other harmful substances.

What makes our cloth nappies ours is the patterns. All are self-designed and Nordic-inspired – Skogsvrå, Dalablomster, Ängsving, Skogssvamp, Dalaräv and more – drawn in a slow-fashion spirit, to last and hold their value over time rather than be replaced every season.

And the economics? Compared with a mid-priced disposable, you save around SEK 13,000 (approx. €1,150) over the nappy period – here is how we work it out. If the nappies go on to a sibling, the saving grows – the same nappies are used by more children.

Frequently asked questions about cloth nappies

How does a cloth nappy work?

A cloth nappy has two parts. On the outside there's a waterproof cover that breathes, and inside there's a bamboo insert that soaks up. You put it on much like a disposable and set the size with the snaps at the front.

How many cloth nappies do you need?

If you want to try, three nappies is enough. Use one a day and wash after three days, that's the rhythm our starter kits are built for. If you only use cloth nappies with covers, you'll need around 24 inserts and 8–10 covers, so you can wash every third day. With pocket nappies the whole nappy goes in the wash after each change, so then you'll need around 24 nappies.

How do you wash cloth nappies?

Put the used nappy in a wet bag, and when it's time everything goes in the machine, the wet bag too. We run a normal cotton programme at 60 degrees, with a prewash and an extra rinse at the end. As long as your baby only has milk, the poo comes out in the wash. When solid food arrives, the contents go in the toilet — sometimes you need to wipe it off with a little toilet paper. Or you can put a disposable liner on top, lift it out and throw it away.

Do cloth nappies leak?

No. It stays dry until it's full, like any nappy. Our inserts are bamboo, with no gel. They hold what the fabric can absorb. If it needs to hold more, put a booster under the insert. More myths about cloth nappies on the blog.

Do cloth nappies work at night?

Yes. The smallest babies do fine with a normal cover and insert, since they're changed at night feeds anyway. Once your child sleeps longer and wees more each time, there's our night nappy from 5 kg, which holds more and is used with a cover on the outside.

Do cloth nappies work at nursery?

Yes, most nurseries are happy to. Ask first how they'd like it done. Pack nappies ready with the insert in, 6–8 per day, and a wet bag for the used nappies to go home in. How to make settling in with cloth nappies easy.

How long does a cloth nappy last?

Washed as instructed, a cloth nappy lasts 2–3 children in nappies. The elastics are what wear first, just like in other children's clothes. When you're done, the nappies can be sold on. We've followed the second-hand market for many years and usually see around a quarter of the new price, and up to half if the nappies are in very good condition.
