FAQ Questions & Answers - Diaper covers / All-in-one
What is a shell/all-in-one diaper?
A shell/all-in-one diaper offers outstanding flexibility for parents. You can choose to use it as a complete diaper, where the whole diaper is washed after each change, which is convenient and easy. Alternatively, it can function as a shell diaper, where you change only the insert and reuse the shell if it is clean. This customizable feature not only reduces the amount of laundry but also gives you the freedom to tailor its use to your specific needs and lifestyle.
How does the diaper stay tight without trapping moisture?
The diaper's superior tightness is achieved through an advanced fabric coated with TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). This thin, waterproof yet breathable coating effectively prevents leakage while allowing optimal air circulation, keeping baby's skin dry and comfortable. Importantly, TPU is completely free of harmful chemicals such as BPA and phthalates, ensuring a safe product. All the fabrics and materials used in the diaper are certified according to the strict Oeko-Tex Standard 100, confirming that they are safe, gentle and eco-friendly to baby's sensitive skin.
What do I do with the stool before washing?
Before washing, it is important to deal with solid stools by simply tipping them into the toilet. To further facilitate this, and to make the process even smoother, you can also use biodegradable disposable liners. These are placed on top of the regular insert, and after use, you simply throw the insert with the stool into the garbage. This simplifies cleaning and reduces the need for scrubbing before washing.
Will I save money by using cloth diapers?
Yes, choosing cloth diapers means significant financial savings compared to disposable diapers. Despite the initial costs of purchase, as well as expenses for washing and energy, cloth diapers are an exceptionally financially smart choice in the long run. If you plan to use the diapers for more than one child, the savings will be particularly significant and contribute to a more sustainable family economy.
What are the practical advantages of cloth diapers over disposable diapers?
Cloth diapers offer a number of practical advantages. They are reusable and environmentally friendly, significantly reducing both waste and long-term costs for the family. With a clever design, they can be easily adjusted to perfectly fit your baby throughout the diapering period, from newborn to potty trained. In addition, cloth diapers are gentle on the skin, effectively reducing the risk of diaper rash and contributing to a healthier development for the baby.
How many diapers do I need?
If you choose to use the diaper primarily as a shell all-in-one diaper, approximately 6-8 shells and 20-25 inserts are recommended for full-time use. This number may vary slightly depending on how often you change the insert and how often you wash. Since you sometimes only change the insert and reuse the shell, you will need fewer shells but more inserts to maintain a smooth rotation.
How do I wash cloth diapers?
Cloth diapers are easily and hygienically machine washed at 60°C. To preserve the function of the diaper and prolong its life, it is important to avoid fabric softeners and bleach, as these can clog the pores of the fabric and affect absorbency. Tumble drying should also be avoided. Instead, let the diapers air dry for best results, which is gentlest on the materials and helps preserve the waterproof coating. Storing used diapers in a wetbag between washes is also a smart tip.
Do I need to change the whole diaper every time?
One of the great advantages of this type of diaper is its flexibility. If you use it as a shell diaper, you don't have to change the whole diaper every time. Instead, you can easily change the insert and use the shell again, provided it is clean and dry. This reduces the amount of washing and makes use more economical.
How do I adjust the diaper to fit my baby?
The diaper is equipped with smart height buttons at the front that make it easy to adjust the size vertically, adapting the diaper to the child's height. In addition, there are several buttons in width to perfectly adjust the waist measurement. An optimal and comfortable fit is achieved when you can easily get 1-2 fingers into the waist. This adjustability ensures that the diaper fits securely without tightening, giving the baby maximum comfort and preventing leaks throughout the diaper period.
