Our sustainability work
Small steps, done properly
Time Ahead Sweden was founded in 2021. We sell modern cloth diapers and accessories for the diaper change — but what we really want is to make it a little easier to choose reusable, without it becoming complicated. We believe in small steps in the right direction, and we don't say more than we can show.
Reuse is the whole idea
A cloth diaper is used over and over again, often through several diaper periods and not seldom through 2–3 children. When you're finished with it, it can be sold on the second-hand market. Products that get a long life — that's how we think about sustainability, and it's something we can stand behind fully. (We deliberately don't compare ourselves to disposables in numbers; which choice suits you best depends on your family and your everyday life.)
Materials and certifications — checked against the registers
We don't hold any certificates ourselves, but we choose factories and materials that can back up what they promise — and we have personally checked the certificates against the official registers. This is what applies to our products:
- OEKO-Tex Standard 100. The textiles in our core range are made from materials certified to OEKO-Tex Standard 100 — tested for harmful substances, including phthalates, and safe close to your baby's skin. Our suppliers' certificate numbers: BJ050 171756, SH150 266275, SHAO 032340 and BEFO 035708 — you can check them yourself via the OEKO-Tex Label Check.
- The Basic line. Made from materials tested to SGS standards, with current CPC/CPSC safety tests (2025).
- Recycled material (rPET). Many of our shells are made from recycled polyester from plastic bottles. We don't state an exact percentage yet — that figure requires a valid GRS transaction certificate, which we have requested. Once it's verified, we'll update here.
- Bamboo inserts. The absorbent part is an airy bamboo/polyester blend.
- Packaging. Recycled material as far as possible, FSC certified — from responsibly managed forests.
During 2026 we are building a clearer internal system for how we collect, check and keep our certificates and product documents up to date — delivery by delivery. The goal is simple: every certificate we rely on should be current and possible to show.
How our products are made
Production currently takes place in China — a deliberate choice, since the materials are uncommon in the European textile industry. We set requirements for the factories we work with: fair working conditions, safe working environments and equality regardless of gender or background. Our ambition is to move part of the production within the EU when it becomes possible — a direction we are working towards, not a promise we have already kept.
We don't promise more than we can show
The rules around environmental claims have tightened, and we think that's a good thing. We don't use words like “climate neutral”, and we currently don't support any external plastic or climate projects. We prefer to rely on concrete facts and documentation — which is why we show the certificate numbers above, so you can check them yourself. A true sentence rather than a sweeping one.
Small steps, at home too
Time Ahead is a family business, and the same idea of small steps comes home with us. We're turning part of our lawn into a meadow, little by little. Martin cuts it with a scythe. We keep hens and a potato patch, collect rainwater in barrels, and try to keep our consumption down — buying second-hand, selling on, mending and sewing when there's time. No grand gestures. Just everyday choices that feel right for us, and that may grow in number further down the line, when the children are older.
